This is going to be a small post about a little gadget I have grown to love called Arduino! As you can see, this is not a comic book hahaha BUT still just as great! It is a prototyping, microprocessing piece of hardware that you can use to make pretty much anything from robots to alarm clocks ANYTHING you can put your mind to.
Yup, that's all I had to say really... I'll be posting more comics and things like this that catch my interest.
I got one of these in college. The port is serial though, kind of wish I got the USB version.
ReplyDeleteOne of my friends is an engineering major and I think he showed me this chip once. He did this crazy thing with a laser!
ReplyDeleteWow that cool, i've read alot about them. Really versitle peice of electronics.
ReplyDeleteAre you making anything out of this? :o
ReplyDeletecan it make me invisible?
ReplyDeleteNot too long ago I made a simple object avoiding robot. It basically just used a ultrasonic sensor to measure distance ahead and turned away if it moved to close to something. :P I know, it sounds pretty lame BUT I had loooooaaaads of fun making it! Since then I have lost most of my components due to a move ): I might start up something new when I get the chance
ReplyDeletenice blog, following! :D
ReplyDeleteso... how much do one of these things cost?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree, if there was a USB version of this thing you'd be invincible. Work on that!! Keep up the tech posts, lovin' em! <3

ReplyDeleteThat looks cool. Oh the possibilities!
ReplyDeleteArduino sounds great.
ReplyDeleteNice post, looks cool!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah i worked with one of those in my classes! Really easy to program. My class and other class did a box which detected where the sun was, the time it was and then predicted if it was good to turn the sprinklers on the grass.
ReplyDeleteAwesome little thing!
That. is. pretty damn hard core!
ReplyDeleteThat is really cool sounding!

ReplyDeletenice!
ReplyDelete@Rems, well the main chip used in this model (uno) is an ATmega 328 : )
ReplyDeleteI must check this out!
ReplyDeleteI was adviced to buy this, I was gonna make my 10 year old answering machine to be able to send midi signals to the pc:)
ReplyDeleteCool stuff. I hear you can use them to make midi instruments. Might invest at some point...
ReplyDeleteYES! I saw some dude making a midi synth with some basic wave controls with one of these not too long ago :D I definitely want to get in on that
ReplyDeleteSweet! Nice blog, +1follower!
ReplyDeletei wonder how i could use this in my car . . . for security or something :)
ReplyDeleteI remember hearing about these a while ago, when I took a mini "Intro to Computer Engineering" course. Taking the real deal this fall...hope it's as fun as the class was. hahah
ReplyDeleteYeah man i've used one of these to make a balancing robot :)
ReplyDeleteCan it make me a sandwich? I assure you, NOTHING is amazing unless it can make me a sandwich.
